Emily C. Dore, MSW/MPH

I study structural determinants of health with a life course perspective, with the goal of informing social and economic policies that decrease health disparities. I am currently a Sociology PhD candidate at Emory University, but in June 2024 I will be joining the Social Policies for Health Equity Research (SPHERE) Center at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as a postdoctoral research fellow.

My dissertation research is funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (F31MD017935) and focuses on the relationship between childhood context and adult health. More specifically, I study 1) state variation in the relationship between childhood socioeconomic status and adult health and 2) the long-term impact of childhood exposure to welfare reform on adult health.
