I am an Assistant Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. I study structural determinants of health with a life course perspective, with the goal of informing social and economic policies that decrease health disparities.

My work focuses on administrative burdens within safety net programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, and how they shape program participation, as well as downstream health outcomes. I'm also interested in state-level structural oppression - how they’re measured and what they mean for health. These interests stem from the belief that macrolevel factors like policies are modifiable levers to improve population health.
